We offer a full range of accountancy services, ranging from preparation of accounts for sole traders and partnerships to accounts for charities, trusts and small and medium sized limited companies.
We do not believe it is good practice for an accountant to only see his or her client's books once a year when he or she starts to work on the annual accounts. At this point it is usually too late to take any meaningful action to either minimise the tax bill for the year or to take corrective action should the business be getting into difficulties.
Consequently, we like to review the progress of a client's business several times a year. We do this by preparing interim accounts for the business and discussing progress to date with the client. We feel that by getting involved in this way in a client's business during the year we as the accountant can build up an on-going working relationship and provide a value-added service which is of great benefit to the client.
In the course of a financial year we would expect to give a client advice on general business matters, income or corporation tax and value added tax as well as prepare the annual accounts and agree these with the Inland Revenue. This is all included in the agreed fixed fee. What is not included and would be billed for separately would be such work as preparing and submitting income tax, corporation tax or value added tax returns, providing payroll services, preparing business plans, cash flow forecasts, handling Inland Revenue or HM Customs & Excise investigations, etc.
For more details of this type of work please see the Taxation Services, Payroll Service and Consultancy pages.
